Kate Beckinsale’s return as Selene is a highlight, bringing intensity and charisma to the action-heavy narrative. The film delivers plenty of battles and visual spectacle, but the reliance on CGI over practical effects diminishes some of the raw edge that defined the original entries. The expanded world offers potential for fresh storylines, yet the rushed pacing leaves little room for deeper exploration of lore or character development. Despite these shortcomings, Awakening remains entertaining for fans of the series, providing relentless action and a continuation of Selene’s journey, even if it lacks the polish of its predecessors.

Selene je zničena zjištěním, že Michael zemřel, ale smutek je velice záhy překonán šokujícím zjištěním, že v průběhu svého kryogenního spánku porodila dceru Eve. Ve snaze najít úkryt pro sebe i své dítě se Selene ocitá ve světě, kde jsou příslušníci její kdysi tak hrdé rasy na hranici vyhubení a zbytky přežívajících se ukrývají v podzemí.
