Tahle putyka, stojící v ospalém městečku Newton Haven, je zajímavá snad jen tím, že má být cílem velmi odvážného pivního maratónu pětice kamarádů. Ti se ho pokusili „doběhnout" už před lety, ale tehdy na ně bylo tempo 12 piv – 12 hospod – 1 noc příliš zběsilé. Pak je osud zavál na všechny strany, než se Gary, který v životě nic nedokázal, rozhodl, že dokáže dokončit alespoň legendární tah po hospodách v Newton Haven. Přemluví ostatní kumpány a společně se po letech vydají domů, aby se stali nesmrtelnými. Jenže Newton Haven je nevítá zrovna s otevřenou náručí. Stačí prvních pár piv a několik velmi bizarních příhod, aby si uvědomili, že v tomhle městě něco nebo někdo smrdí. Najednou nebojují jen o úspěšné strávení dalšího piva, ale i o vlastní krky. Cesta do hospody U Konce světa se zdá být najednou mnohem náročnější, než čekali. Jenže vy byste to vzdali, kdybyste si měli naplnit sen z mládí? A jen tak mimoděk přitom zachránili celé lidstvo?

- PapaHamzeh25. dubna 2026This movie was strange. It took far too long to get to the hook, which hurt it in the long run. Another issue is that no one is really likeable. I mean, almost no one comes off with the same charm that the previous two Cornetto movies had. I don't hate the plot, but it needed a tighter script and better characters. I'm sure many people will come off the top rope with "if you know someone like the main character the movie is better" and I would argue that is poor writing. A story should make me understand a character while also making me like them, if they are to be the protaganist.

- Kiz7. října 2025It's fun. As always Edgar Wright's style sets this movie completely apart. It's a unique and creative story that's fun filled from the start. But this movie, much like others of Wright's filmography, is much better on a rewatch. The main character is a very well executed Tyler Durden-esque character, but the development can be a little on the nose. Overall, a great ending to the Cornetto trilogy.

Background info - loved Spaced, followed Simon Peggs career for years in things like Big Train and fully identify with the whole Pegg Frost dynamic being around their age and loving all things Adam and Joe, Park and Wright etc. Being from the area and familiar with the locations Worlds Ends was shot, it gives it an extra edge. It’s almost as if it was shot for me. Years back I migrated to Australia and was on a casual visit to the UK when me and my bestie visiting the area caught some of the location stuff and sets such as the huge alien figure and “first roundabout” sign - seemed to be the perfect movie for me. I have seen it a number of times but tonight all the stars aligned and with the event of covid it seems to have taken on an even more poignant and deeper meaning than ever before. I always though it was an “ok” movie but 8 years on from its release date I find it has not only matured well but I now consider it an underrated masterpiece. We followed the trilogy and watched Shawn of the dead, hot fuzz and worlds end in sequence over a few nights and really enjoyed them. So to sum up, worlds end - seemed far deeper and more meaningful this viewing, funnier and more jokes which I may behave previously missed, but with the event of covid it certainly seemed to hit home harder in its message. HVe another look at it and see if you agree. Previously I would have probably said 3 - 3.5 stars, but from tonight I have a different perspective and now I say 5*. Very enjoyable.
