- Richard Gobin14. června 2025Of all the shark-themed movies out there, The Reef stands out as a pretty sharp-edged film, as sharp as a Great White's dorsal fin slicing through the ocean. No cringe SFX here, the shark looks real as I believe actual shark footage was used (great Film Editor).
- old_computer24. ledna 2026This is far better than it should be. AndrewT is at his prime here and the actors truly look horrified. It seems AndrewT (director) loses his magic the larger his budget gets but THIS is how you do a shark horror movie. Superb chefs kiss and I hope he gives us more like this and Black Water.
- DARTH VADER15. ledna 2026A very solid 4 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 🦈 movie that has excellent tension building & suspense throughout and gave me everything I wanted out of a movie like this! The timing of the jumpscares when the 🦈 comes out of nowhere is brilliant. The acting from the 4 characters, that are stranded is very strong and each character standsout in their own way and are memorable, which is quite rare for these kind of movies. I thought Luke was a very good leader and was a very likeable character, that was selfless right to the end. And when the shark grabs him it really hits hard, I really felt gutted because, he was so close to making it and that's how a movie like this, should make you feel. I really loved how the 🦈 was in full view, whenever Luke was looking under the water with his goggles and would then slowly disappear, into the murkyness again and us the viewers watching know it's still there, that's great suspense & tension building. I really loved all of the underwater shots, of the 🦈 that was all competently done. Finally I really loved the side story of Luke & Kate, where there having difficulties in their relationship and how slowly it develops more solid, as the movie goes on, which makes Lukes death even more gut wrenching at the end. The Reef is a film that I highly recommend people watch, for those who haven't seen it before it's a very watchable, suspenseful, tension filled, thrill ride.
