A 35-year old rift between two members of a family is caused by an episode of Miami Vice. in 1986, Miami Vice story editor, John Mankiewicz, calls his beloved younger cousin at college, Tim Davis, to suggest that Tim have a TV party for the premiere of a new episode of Miami Vice which John has penned.
