- M08Y13. srpna 2025The Menu is a portrayal of a man losing the passion that built him his empire and the dire consequences that has on other people. We are taken on a journey that has been carefully designed to make it's victims as uncomfortable as humany possible. The first time I watched The Menu, I was left with a lingering feeling that the film took itself a little too seriously, that it was a little too pretentious. Upon a second viewing and now see that was the entire point. Seeing a room full of "normal" people being shown to be the rot that drove Slowik to lose his passion is a beautiful thing to behold. Excellent performances accross the board with Taylor-Joy, Fiennes and Hoult being the standouts.
- Nickyjames18. března 2025So I'm sitting here thinking about this movie months after watching it for the first time and I really think I love it just as much as I did watching it the first time. Colin Stetson and his score go a very long way to show just how far a good score can take a film. We've seen him do it before in hereditary and Color out of space. There's just a lot to this movie and it demands to be seen more than once. It's beautifully shot beautifully acted there's tons of depth to the characters and it is thematically rich. Pick and choose your themes between classism or adultery or fanaticism there's themes all over the place and throughout the movie.

A nakonec renomovaná kritička restaurací Lillian Blomová se slabošským šéfredaktorem časopisu Tedem a slavná filmová hvězda středního věku se svou asistentkou Felicity. Strávníky obsluhuje dokonale oblečený personál v čele s generálkou Elsou. Během večeře začíná houstnout atmosféra, jak dochází k odhalování tajemství jednotlivých hostů a šéfkuchař Slowik servíruje jeden nečekaný chod za druhým. S přibývajícími dramatickými a násilnými událostmi Slowik hosty čím dál tím víc znervózňuje, a je stále patrnější, že jeho propracované menu má vyústit v pořádně šokující finále.
