I think they just upped the scope on this and just lost sight of the project entirely. However, the philosophical stuff is still great and is this movies saving grace.

The Bad The pacing suffers during the extended Zion dance sequence, which feels disconnected from the main plot. Some CGI elements, particularly during the brawl with multiple Agent Smiths, have aged poorly and look rubbery. The heavy philosophical dialogue in the final act can feel more like a lecture than a narrative. Verdict While it lacks the tight narrative perfection of the original, this sequel is a thrilling, ambitious spectacle that every sci-fi fan should experience at least once.

The graphic stylings do not cease to please and the direction of the story is both unexpected—through the use of innovative characters and lore—and at the same time a smooth addition. Full of action and technology, it is a true gem.
