You can clearly see his emerging style of courageous filmmaking with a compass that points to a road less traveled.

Then you add a reserved protagonist who confronts the deranged antagonists, incompetent politicians, and law enforcement officers, and you have Billy Jack. The only thing missing is a fantastic song to make the hero seem more heroic as the movie ends. Well, maybe next time.
