- Mike Shulman5. února 2026Sam Raimi is back with Send Help to remind us all why he is the all time MVP of dark disgusting twisted f@cked up horror. This movie was nearly perfect. Rachel McAdams is amazing as the submissive nerdy "so we think" employee and Dylan O'Brien as well as the douchebag CEO who inherited everything from daddy and never worked a day in his life. Inevitably after not promoting her the two are the only survivors of a work related plane crash and wash up on a small island in the middle of the ocean. From here Linda who spends her spare time reading survivalist books and auditioning for... You guessed it Survivor is now in her element. She's now the boss and goes out of her way to demonstrate this to Bradley... Multiple times showing him why he needs her... But she's also got a more sinister motivation... As does he... One thing is clear... Both Linda and Bradley are flawed people. Welcome to a Sam Raimi movie.... We're not getting clear cut good vs evil characters. And as you can guess in true Raimi fashion the last hour gets really f@cked up... We get some trademark Evil Dead throwback action. Ultra violence, bodily fluids, laugh out loud moments and WTF moments. And you won't know what's what until the very end. The amount of satisfaction you get from the ending might depend on how depraved your mind is. That's why for me it's awesome. Send Help 9/10
- klit7523. dubna 2026My honest thought is maybe more of a preference. People are comparing this story to "Misery". I think that's unfair to Misery which was a great movie. Personally I LOVED the idea. Rachel McAdams has aged like fine wine both in her beauty and acting skills. I just didn't want the comedic aspect. I wanted this one played straight. A few moments were kind of Naked Gun'ish. Let the anti-hero become the psycho who she is under pressure. Trying to make her funny softens her. The laughs just weren't strong enough to make this a really good movie.

What I enjoyed the most was how the characters were written - my sympathy and compassion kept shifting back and forth as they manipulated and outsmarted each other. Their dynamic stays engaging almost until the very end, striking a nice balance between black comedy, survival, and grotesque humor. Rachel McAdams is completely in her element here. Her seemingly timid, unassuming character, who initially lowers your expectations, gradually reveals a surprising level of confidence and resourcefulness, completely turning the power dynamic on its head. Watching that emotional tug-of-war is easily the film's biggest strength. It's fairly predictable, and there are moments where it feels like Raimi could have pushed his trademark madness much further, but whenever he does let loose, the movie becomes genuinely funny and enjoyably gross. It never fully realizes its potential, but as a light, dark comedy, it absolutely does the job.

The opening scenes depicting McAdams in corporate office setting might have triggered the fight or flight response in my wife more than the actual horrors on the deserted island did. So much of it rang really true. McAdams was incredible and gets to show off quite a bit of range here. Dylan O’Brien is excellently douche-y with a creepy laugh that will make you want to gag anytime you hear it. Sure, it’s a re-hash of a lot of elements seen before (particularly in that third act of The Triangle of Sadness), but damn, Sam Raimi inject it with sooo much fun that makes this romp wildly satisfying. Blood, gore, and also one jump scare that literally had the entire packed audience screaming at times. (The jump scare legit scared the sh🤩 out of my wife). A tad predictable but still so much fun. Highly recommend.
