Her darkest fears become reality when her daughter becomes the next target. Review: "Scream 7" presents a formula that seems to overdo nostalgia, failing to bring anything truly new to the table. By revisiting classic characters and familiar settings, the film seems to wear a cloak of fan service that ends up obscuring originality. What could have been an opportunity to renew the franchise becomes a repetition almost devoid of fresh ideas, leading the viewer on a predictable journey. Furthermore, the attempt to integrate contemporary themes such as Artificial Intelligence and deep fakes proves shallow, resulting in a script that doesn't delve into its reflections and fails to capture the complexity of these issues. This weakens the narrative and makes it seem more like a device than a significant contribution to the plot. On the other hand, Neve Campbell's performance as Sidney Prescott is a highlight, bringing a depth and emotional weight that stand out amidst a confusing plot. His performance offers a glimpse of what "Scream" could have been if it had taken more risks in new directions, instead of relying on old clichés. The film could have benefited from a more compelling and innovative plot.
- danmilano27. července 2026Sadly the worst of the seven, no longer having anything to mine for meta, and with the thinnest plot/reveals yet. I'm surprised the franchisees has lasted this long, but even more surprised that it took six movies before things really started to significantly go downhill. I think all previous entries managed to hold onto something. I really wish this franchise could start fresh.
- eitaks028. února 2026Don’t get me wrong it’s not the best of the series but I think people forget that they are now on the seventh film with their third director! It felt like it was moving with the times but also had that nostalgic feel and didn’t feel gen z or that different to the vibe! It definitely met my expectations and has some of the most disturbing deaths
- Carter5. března 2026Scream 7 is a great sequel that takes the franchise into a different direction. I love the smaller town setting of the movie, gives off Woodsboro vibes. I really enjoy the soundtrack in this movie as well. I love seeing Sidney back and I love her relationship with her daughter and how it’s the centre of the film. The performances are great in here, specifically from Neve and Isabelle. The other cast members are kind of wasted but still have their moments. The kills in the film are more brutal than ever, with some fantastic chase scenes. My biggest issue with this movie is the horrible twist and third act. So overall a couple of issues but still a awesome sequel.
- Scream☆Queen28. února 2026I KEEP WRITING FREAKING LONG REVIEWS, BUT IT KEEPS GETTING DELETED SO IN SHORT VERSION. Kinda slow and boring at some parts, Ghostface reveals were "goofy," but unexpected. Other Scream films were better, I heard they're making Scream 8? Bring back Sam and Tara!🙏 anyway, yeah. Sad bc I had longer reviews, but they deleted 😔
