- Manuel Frangis24. března 2025I just watched R.I.P.D. and I give it 4.5 out of 5 stars. This movie was way more fun than I expected. It is a supernatural action comedy that feels like a mix between Men in Black and a buddy cop movie, and it totally works if you are just looking for a wild entertaining ride. Ryan Reynolds and Jeff Bridges are the heart of this movie. Their chemistry is what makes it all work. Reynolds plays a recently deceased cop who finds himself recruited into a secret afterlife police department called the Rest in Peace Department. His job is to help track down souls who refuse to move on and are causing problems on Earth. Sounds crazy and it is, but that is what makes it fun. Ryan Reynolds is great in this role. He brings his usual charm and quick wit and makes his character easy to root for. He is confused and angry at first but also determined to do what is right. His reactions to the whole afterlife situation are hilarious and feel believable in the middle of all the madness. Jeff Bridges completely steals the show as Roy Pulsipher, an old time Wild West lawman who has been part of the R.I.P.D. for a long time. His old school attitude and cowboy slang make every line funny and his performance is totally committed. He does not care how weird the situation is. He just owns it. The world building is really cool. The way the R.I.P.D. works, the gadgets they use, and the idea of spirits hiding among us makes for a lot of cool moments. There is a whole system in place that gives the movie a real structure even with all the comedy and action going on. The action scenes are fun and creative. There are shootouts, chase scenes, and supernatural battles that are flashy and exciting. The visual effects are a little over the top sometimes but that is part of the charm. It is not trying to be grounded or realistic. It is just trying to entertain you and it does that well. The humor is solid. A lot of it comes from the banter between Roy and Nick and their complete opposite personalities. You also get some laughs from how the living world sees them, which is a great running gag that the movie uses well. Some of the jokes are a little cheesy but they mostly land. The pacing is fast. There is not much downtime and the movie keeps moving from one scene to the next with good momentum. It does not waste time on too much backstory or long emotional scenes. It knows what it is and just goes for it. The reason I give it 4.5 instead of a full 5 is because while it is super fun it does not always feel completely polished. Some scenes are a little messy and the villain plot is not super deep. But honestly that did not bother me much because the characters and action are strong enough to carry it. Overall R.I.P.D. is a fun underrated action comedy with a cool concept and great performances from Reynolds and Bridges. It is silly, fast, and full of supernatural fun. I had a great time watching it and I would totally watch a sequel if they ever made one.
- Gianni Cavuoto18. listopadu 2025I like this movie a lot. It's funni Ryan Renlolds does what he does best....runs his mouth. And Jeff Bridges get some of the best lines incredibly. Overall it's like watching a comic book come to life. I wish there were more of these. You could have gone in a million directions with this one. If you are a fan of the Men In Black series this is right up your ally.

- Eric Oldenburg25. června 2026This is one of my favorite movies of all time! It violates pretty much every rule of good cinema in my opinion. But it's just a fun popcorn movie that you can enjoy and just let yourself go! I love Jeff Bridges in this role too!!

- gmrxbox21. října 2024Okay, this is a Men In Black ripoff, let's just get that out of the way. It is unapologetic about trying to build something like Men In Black. But. You could do worse than Ryan Reynolds and Jeff Bridges in the J and K roles. Young recruit joins a quirky clandestine organization, learns the ropes, and gets involved in a world ender plot. Some decent characterization and world-building are constantly thrown off by terribly CGI and a plot that is too small to really evoke world-ending consequences. Still, you can do much worse.

Jako zelenáč je Nick přidělen k ostřílenému šerifovi Royi Pulsipherovi, který ho začne seznamovat s chodem téhle originální policejní jednotky.
