The investigation gets pretty intense, and the movie doesn't shy away from how ugly the racism and corruption are. Some of the scenes are genuinely hard to watch. It's pretty bleak stuff, but it never feels pointless. The acting is excellent, the whole thing has a great atmosphere, and the story keeps you hooked. It's not completely accurate to the real events, but as a movie it works incredibly well. Really good crime drama.

- Jay Marie Bailey7. června 2026A brutal insight into life for those of colour in the deep south of America during segregation. No I do not believe this was how life was for all nor do I believe the FBI handled it in the perfect manner displayed in the movie. What the movie will of done is raise awareness to the issues to try and help stamp out. Dafoe and Hackman played their characters really well. One thing that does get me thinking though is it is 62 years since these events happened, yes society has made changes for the better so things like this don't happen any more but the sad fact is racism is still prevalent. I've seen this film a number of times now and it still gets to me anger, outrage and disappointment
