At its core, the movie tackles the heartbreaking tension of a daughter who feels her mother "doesn't like her," even while they share a deep, unspoken love. Despite her flaws, Lady Bird’s evolution into a goal-oriented young woman by the end of the film is incredibly rewarding to watch.
- James Saenz12. dubna 2026“i was on top!! who the fuck is on top their first time??!!” stellar film. my favorite character this time around is the football coach who takes over for the drama club. i was also the only one laughing in the theater, which is a shame because it deserves a roomful of laughs.

There are some genuinely great performances, funny bits and observations, interesting characters, but it never comes together in quite the way it should. I think the main issue I have is pacing. Despite being a dialog driven character piece, the movie moves at break-neck speed and never gives the audience time to breathe or reflect on anything that happens. There are emotional bits that really need space to land, but don't because we're already onto the next.

Kdybyste si chtěli Christine jednoduše zaškatulkovat, zařadili byste ji mezi rebelky. Není nijak zvlášť hezká a obličej plný akné maskuje růžovými vlasy. Není nijak zvlášť chytrá a tenhle deficit vyrovnává tvrzením, že má umělecké sklony. Asi nejzajímavější je na ní to, že coby symbol vzdoru odmítá své křestní jméno, sama si říká Lady Bird a chce, aby ji tak oslovovali i všichni ostatní. Když se s ní setkáme poprvé, absolvujeme její brutální hádku s matkou, po které naštvaně vystoupí z auta. Jedoucího. A přitom je tahle věčně nabručená holka se zlomenou rukou (následek výše uvedeného incidentu) ve skutečnosti citlivá duše, která by se jen chtěla správně zamilovat a najít smysl života, a je jen nervózní z toho, že se jí ani jedno zatím příliš nedaří.
