- Patrick D.19. srpna 2026It really highlights the brutality that both sides experienced during manifest destiny. was really impressed with the score and cinematography. It has beautiful shots of the Western U.S. landscape, expertly utilized music to highlight the mood, and neither were overdone to make it overly dramatic. Christian Bale is really good in this film. I think 3:10 to Yuma is a better overall movie, but his performance in this stood out more (probably because Russell Crowe wasn't his co-star). This was really a grounded movie. There are a few flaws that I don't want to highlight here because they are spoilers, but overall this is worth the watch if you want a gritty, brutal Western.

- Aaron Speight9. června 2025Great movie, gritty and thought provoking, amazing visuals and soundtrack.
- S Jöhansson3. února 2026Under-rated. Christian Bale is solid.
- dash108. listopadu 2025It's a slow burn of a movie but a good watch.
- brian.ho9321. září 2025Such a mediocre, boring movie. Whoever cast Rosamund Pike in this shouldn't be casting in Hollywood anymore. Nothing wrong with her but she doesn't blend into this world at all.
- Charles London5. února 2025The age of the western peaked many years ago but Hostiles is a fairly solid entry into the genre. It's not a perfect film. It spends much of its capital early with some very intense scenes, not the least of which is an opening that is guaranteed to grab your attention. If there's a problem, it's that the last half of the movie doesn't quite equal its promising beginning. The cinematography however is excellent throughout and Rosamund Pike gives an award-worthy performance. The story here is about a war-weary cavalry captain and an adversarial Cheyenne chief coming to terms with each other's past transgressions at the tail end of the American Indian Wars. I could nitpick the script, perhaps there was more death than needed to drive home the filmmakers' point and maybe it was just a tad drawn out, but in the end I liked Hostiles albeit just not quite as much as I thought I would after the drama of the opening scene.
