- Chris C14. ledna 2026It's an entertaining disaster film, but it doesn't live up to the first movie. What made the first one so great was that the disaster really wasn't the focus, but instead how society reacts and a single family's struggle to stay together and reach safety. Migration ratchets up the spectacle, but it comes at the expense of some of the grounded tension that elevated the first movie. The number of convenient (to the plot, inconvenient to the family, of course) disasters that just magically pop up to get in the way strained credulity in a genre where you already have to suspend belief. Still, the effects were great and Butler and Baccarin put in satisfying performances. Don't expect a sequel that tops the original, but it's still an entertaining flick.
