As the title implies, once it starts it never stops, relentlessly taking you from one frantic scene to the next. The eclectic cast helps deliver the punchy script from John August. You’ll forgive how much this apes early Tarantino. Go is blast.
- Desmond Dale24. ledna 2025Go encapsulated the best elements of my 90s guilty pleasure films while minimizing the cringe. Everything about it triggers my 90s nostalgia from the cool trip-hop soundtrack, to the grunge/slacker fashion styles, the teenage angst and nihilism, and even down to their dubious decision making and drugs of choice. It's an adrenaline boosting, high octane ride with lots of dark humor littered throughout kind of like an American version of a Gus Van Saint film but with less repercussions in the aftermath. Go also utilizes parallel converging storylines but it's done in a way that's clear and highly accessible. It has strong, bold characters and the dialogue contains lots of sardonic wit. Overall this makes for a film that I think offers a high entertainment value and avoids any hints of a sober bummer comedown, which I believe usually makes for a highly replayable combination. I can see myself reaching for this film whenever I get a 90s itch as much as my favorites like Cruel Intentions and The Faculty.

Příležitostný obchodník s drogami Simon si chce vyjet s kamarády do Las Vegas a uplatí kolegyni Ronnu, aby za něj vzala službu v supermarketu. Dívka nutně potřebuje peníze na nájem, a proto nezaváhá. Plán je jednoduchý - sežene pro ně drogy místo Simona a vydělá pár špinavých, zato bezpracných babek. Teorie je jasná a přehledná, praxe temná a nevyzpytatelná. Zvláště když s dodavatelem zboží nejsou žádné žerty a zákazníci spolupracují s policií. Podobné chvilky zažívá Simon se svými kamarády v Las Vegas. Vzrušující návštěva Las Vegas se mění v boj o holý život. Pohnuté okamžiky prožívají i herci Adam a Zack, kteří byli kvůli vlastním drogovým hříškům donuceni spolupracovat s policií. To ale zdaleka není to nejhorší, co je dnes v noci čeká, protože také policejní důstojníci se angažují v podomním přímém prodeji na principu hry letadlo. Všechny tři příběhy se pochopitelně s tarantinovskou rafinovaností spojí ve velkolepém, napínavém a zároveň komickém finále.
