- neuroparadox29. července 2025"The killer died in this hospital....and [he] was plugged into your computer!" This is like a kissing cousin to The Lawnmower Man. This movie came out when I was 13 years old; the same age as the dope-ass, smart-talkin' white boy protagonist, Josh. It has some pretty impressive early CGI (yeah yeah,🦖🏞️) paired with ambitious camera moves (yeah yeah,🦖🏞️) those alone make this worth a look. And, this bitch knows how to build tension, even if has a healthy dose of goofy. Ultimately, this film is a snapshot into the early 90s, and how everyone thought life was going to play out with technology and the "datanet"...take that, add in an serial killer, some technological voodoo (à la Wes Craven's Shocker), and voila! I knew I remembered this film for some reason, and not just because of the microwave kill, which is amazing. Ebert calls it: "Gen X anti-appliance propaganda!" JK I made that up PS: I still have a crush on Karen Allen ❤️❤️💘
- jackmeat20. června 2025My quick rating - 4.9/10. I generally remember this one being a bit better than it was. I am sure that is the element of time, though. To be honest, for 1993, they had a pretty good idea of the issues to come with everything being online. Granted, no one has accidentally scanned a serial killer and blasted him onto the Internet, but give it time. I am sure it'll happen once digitizing people is a thing lol. Oh, and that is what this movie is about. The killer in this basically does so with no remorse, and kills down the list of someone's address book, hence being named the address book killer. And when he gets his eyes on Karen Allen, her address book becomes the next guide for him to follow. The only difference is now, instead of a car to get to the next victim, he traverses the electrical lines. All good fun with some nice setups for the kills that all culminate into a horridly stupid ending.

Terry Munroeová je svobodná matka, která hledá dárek pro svého šéfa a navštíví počítačový obchod, kde jí jeden zaměstnanec předvede scanner, který může transformovat informace jejího adresáře do softwarového programu. Terry netuší, že zaměstnanec je Karl Hochman, proslavený v médiích jako člověk, který ukradl adresáře lidí a zavraždil nejen všechny na seznamu ale i jejich majitele. Terry omylem zapomene adresář v obchodě a Karl jí ho chce doručit osobně domů. Na cestě však havaruje a musí být odvezený okamžitě do nemocnice. Tu při ozařovaní se promění v sérii elektrických impulzů, které mohou putovat jako počítačové kódy z jednoho systému do druhého. Terry a její syn Josh si jednoho dne uvědomí, že jsou ve smrtelném nebezpečí, když se Karl objeví v Joshově virtuální počítačové hře. Jen Bram Walker, skvělý počítačový technik umí izolovat a odstranit Karlův virus, ještě před tím než začne zabíjet své oběti...
