- Richard9. listopadu 2025Saw this one in cinema, because when Arnold’s holding railguns and jumping out of planes, you don’t wait for home release. He plays U.S. Marshal John “The Eraser” Kruger, a witness protection specialist who makes people disappear, literally and bureaucratically. When Vanessa Williams uncovers a weapons conspiracy, Arnold’s job is to keep her alive while dodging betrayal, bullets and crocodiles. Chuck Russell directs with slick pacing and just enough techno thriller gloss. The railgun effects were cutting edge back then, even if the CGI crocs now look like rejected Jurassic Park assets. James Caan plays the corrupt mentor with smirking menace and the supporting cast is stacked with 90's character actors doing their thing. I liked the stunts, the paranoia and the way it made cinema nights feel explosive, slick and proudly over the top with x-ray scopes, plane dives and Arnold doing what Arnold does best. So when I got the change to buy it later on DVD I just had too.

What could have been an interesting chase thriller quickly becomes a big dumb paint-by-numbers affair. Not actually bad, but forgettable.
