Laura is intrigued, but John resists the idea. He, however, seems to have his own psychic flashes, seeing their daughter walk the streets in her red cloak, as well as Laura and the sisters on a funeral gondola.

- Andy Cippico24. ledna 2026Having read the book on more than one occasion, this was unexpectedly difficult to relate to, or follow. Perhaps the direction style and acting were of their time, but they were massively jarring to my 21st century sensibilities. The shaky photography didn't help, not to mention the totally gratuitous and irrelevant sex scene. I should also mention that the acting was particularly poor, and not even helped by the usual excellent Sutherland. This should have remained true to Du Maurier's novel rather than being force-fed with pointless filler which I suspect was included in a vain attempt to increase the sense of uneasiness in the viewer. This could have been adapted faithfully into a one-hour short film, not the strange and drawn-out effort we see here.
- Stairwaytothestars20. září 2025DON'T LOOK NOW has a very haunting and melancholic mood, as the story ripples through the atmospheric canals of Venice, Italy, with it's beautiful architecture that weaves its mystery in this city of antiquity. Julie Christie and Donald Sutherland are consumed with grief as they are driven by obsession to see their lost little girl once again.

- Mister Arn21. května 2025The film is slow, disjointed, and driven by the soundtrack instead of dialogue, which makes it hard to understand what's going on. However, some of the visuals are outstanding, and a couple of scenes make the movie worth watching.
