This one felt like a light-budget B-movie trying to pass itself off as bigger than it really is. The visuals are decent, and I do think the whole police-state angle with AI surveillance, robot dogs, and powered people being squeezed by the system is interesting. That part still has some bite, and even other reviews gave the sequel credit for leaning harder into police militarization and corruption. But the movie around those ideas is pretty mediocre. The acting is weak, the plot is simple and predictable, and the suspense just is not there. A lot of critics landed somewhere in that same neighborhood, basically saying the sequel has a solid premise and a more polished surface but still ends up bland, cliched, and underpowered. What frustrated me most is that the world still feels half-built. There are too many directions the movie could have explored that would have been more interesting than what we got: Garrett as the leader of the Towers, the drug operation, how Psyke is really manufactured, Pavani’s powers, or even just turning the police raid into a mini-The Raid inside that building. Instead, it kind of bounces around and never commits. The number of corrupt cops is also so ridiculous that it starts to feel less like dystopia and more like lazy stacking the deck. I thought the first movie was better. Both of them are watchable in that “throw it on Netflix and forget it a week later” way, but this one especially feels disposable. Some audience reactions were a little warmer than the critics, but for me it is still a skip. There are worse ways to kill 100 minutes, but not many more forgettable ones.

Not as good as the first one, a bit formulaic. Watchable enough though.
