    There are aspects of Captain Blood that are lighthearted; at times, it feels like the film is making light of slavery and autocracy.

    Damn this is a fun movie.   All the big budget is on the screen.   Flynn’s first starring role and he’s a full-formed swashbuckler. Basil Rathbone shows up more than an hour in and he slays.
