The Rock as Black Adam looks wise I have no problem with but his performance feels so lifeless and I know how much love he has for this character but this is just not the move. Dr. Fate is such a badass I wish we got more of him. There’s like almost no story or direction with this film and the action and CGI are subpar at best and I was really bored watching this lmao. This also feels so disconnected to the rest of the DCEU, I mean outside of the post credit scene there is literally no proof that this take place in the same world as Justice League. Also this movie has got to have hands down the most useless post credit scene in history of film.
- Kevin Ward6. července 2025It’s rare that my wife anticipates a films release more than I do—especially when it’s a comic book movie. But The Rock has come in and upset that hierarchy in our household. Brief spoiler-free thoughts. Loved the JSA. Can see them green-lighting and fast-tracking a standalone JSA film and I would be all for it. Pierce Brosnan is fantastic as Dr. Fate. Honestly just love the sound of his voice, but in addition his character, powerset and overall performance almost steals the film. The Rock delivers as Black Adam. He’s charismatic as always, but actually pulls off the darker tone better than I had expected. The main villain is pretty lame and the final act suffers as a result, but I was surprised at how much I got invested in some of these characters and I’m fairly eager to see where this franchise could go next, which I wasn’t really expecting to say about this.
- Daiken Seige26. července 2026A decent movie ruined by Ego and Studio interference. I really enjoy this movie. If the Rocks ego didn't get in the middle of everything this would have been a great char to have. I thought the Rock was great in this roll. I thought the JSA was kinda a waste. Dr. Fate and Hawk Man were great but Atom Smasher and Wind Lady were crap. They could have pulled from anyone else. It would have been great to see Alan Scott, Hourman, Jay Gerrick,, Dr. Midnight. Hell I could go on. Also the Human aspect wasn't bad either. Having the main plot being about Kondocs freedom and all that wasn't a bad sub plot. The Kid was annoying AF a total Kenny as we Gamera/Godzilla fans know the reference. Also the Music was weird. Still a fun movie. Kinda pointless but fun.
- Arthas Menethil9. září 2025The Movie that broke up Zack Snyder's DCEU, way to go, Rock. 🤣 A bit derivative at times and clichéd, but if you get past the Rock's ego and the silliness meant to be serious, it's not a bad movie with a bit of popcorn and some idle time, just not a lot of replay value, but entertaining nonetheless.
- Callum6. června 2026⭐⭐⭐ – Black Adam – Better than the internet told me. I feel like Black Adam got a rougher reception than it deserved. Is it perfect? Not even close. But it's also nowhere near the disaster that a lot of online discussion would have you believe. What I appreciated most is that it gave us a chance to spend time with parts of the DC universe that rarely get any attention. Before this film, I'd never even heard of Black Adam. The same goes for several of the supporting characters. In a cinematic landscape where DC often seems to fall back on Batman or Superman, it was refreshing to see something different for a change. Dwayne Johnson is exactly what you'd expect in the title role. He's charismatic, powerful, and has enough screen presence to make the character work, even when the script isn't doing him many favours. The action is plentiful, and while some of it falls into the familiar superhero trap of "CGI things hitting other CGI things," there are still plenty of entertaining moments throughout. The film's biggest weakness is that it never quite figures out what it wants to be. At times it feels like an antihero story, at others a straight superhero movie, and occasionally something else entirely. The result is a film that's enjoyable in the moment but struggles to leave a lasting impression. Still, I think it deserves credit for trying something different. Not every DC movie needs to revolve around Superman, Batman, or the Joker. Sometimes it's nice to explore corners of the universe that most audiences have never seen before. No, it won't change anyone's mind about comic-book films. But if you're willing to meet it halfway, there's a perfectly decent superhero adventure here. ⚡ An energy drink on a hot afternoon — loud, flashy, and enjoyable enough, even if you know it isn't particularly sophisticated.
- Zokkiie18. března 2026Second time watching this and I liked it more than the first. It’s a pretty fun ride if you’re just in the mood for something loud and easy. The action hits hard, there are some genuinely cool visuals, and Dwayne Johnson has a strong presence that carries most of it. Pierce Brosnan is also a standout and adds something a bit different, and the Justice Society crew is more entertaining than I remembered. That said, it never fully comes together. The one thing holding it back is a weak story—it feels kind of stitched together and predictable, which makes it hard to really care about what’s going on. Some of the humor also doesn’t quite land. Still, it’s got enough energy and spectacle to keep you entertained for a couple of hours. Just don’t expect anything deeper than that.
