Veteran police detective Shimazaki Youhei investigates an accounting fraud case by Nichiwa Bank when he learns that his eldest son Jotaro may have passed along classified information to Nichiwa Bank employee Tomioka Kazuo. Youhei attempts to protect his son from the investigation when Tomioka is murdered. Detective Shimazaki feels a temporary sense of relief that Jotaro's involvement is now safe, but then his youngest son Shinji becomes the prime suspect in Tomioka's murder.
