Sehraný policejní tandem Burnett – Lowrey se prohání v černém Porsche ulicemi Miami a bravurně řeší banální případy. Ale tentokrát je čeká tvrdá práce a šéf drogového gangu Fouchet, který nezanechává žádné stopy a uznává jen mrtvé svědky. Odvážnou loupež heroinu museli provést profesionálové, kteří měli své spojky i v policejních řadách. Jediným svědkem, který může pomoci je vyděšená call girl Julie, jež se nakonec odhodlá zavolat svému příteli Mikeu Lowreymu. Ten ale není zrovna po ruce a tak si Burnett zahraje na svého parťáka a trochu si zkomplikuje manželství, kde ho v rámci výměny Mike snaživě zastupuje. Fouchetovi zabijáci jsou ale Julii na stopě – jenomže tenhle nový tříčlenný tým rozpoutá bitvu, ve které zákon a černý Porsche nakonec vítězí.

That’s the novel. 🕶️ Mike Lowrey (Will Smith) Walks like he owns Miami. Shoots like physics is optional. Smiles while buildings detonate behind him. Man spends more time adjusting sunglasses than solving crime. 📢 Marcus Burnett (Martin Lawrence) At least 60% of the runtime is him shouting. Volume = personality. He reacts to every situation like someone just told him rent went up. 💥 The Michael Bay Effect Directed by Michael Bay before he discovered he could legally detonate entire zip codes. Camera spins. Cars flip. Slow motion walking like it’s a deodorant advert. The movie doesn’t end — it explodes into credits. 🧠 Logic Check Unlimited bullets Unlimited luck Unlimited property damage Zero paperwork consequences Internal Affairs must’ve just given up. 🎭 Villain Energy Generic 90s rich bad guy with a European accent. Motivation: Drugs. Money. Slightly evil smirk. That’s the whole personality. 🧨 Final Hardcover Verdict Story depth: paperback thin. Chemistry: platinum. Explosions: historic landmark status. 90s energy: radioactive. Brutal Summary This film is basically: Two men arguing loudly while the city budget collapses around them. And somehow… it’s still iconic.

The cast is really good in this film with Martin Lawrence and Will Smith just having a blast and forming a hilarious duo for movies to come. The movie is hilarious and never failed to get a chuckle out of you. The action is awesome, but a lot more tame compared to the sequels and it works very well. The movie is very simple with a simple plot, simple characters, and it’s overall a simple but fun movie that I can strongly consider a classic.

- Callum28. prosince 2025⭐⭐⭐½ – Bad Boys – Bayhem, bravado, and chemistry doing the heavy lifting. I’ll admit I only watched this in the first place because an ex wanted to put it on. Since then, I’ve found myself revisiting it every couple of years. Turns out… she was right. It is great. Just don’t tell her I said that. This is Michael Bay in full throttle mode — balls to the wall, glossy, loud, and never particularly subtle. It could absolutely use a bit more finesse, and if you go looking for restraint you’re in the wrong place entirely. But what it lacks in subtlety, it makes up for in momentum. The real secret weapon here is the chemistry. Will Smith and Martin Lawrence bounce off each other effortlessly, carrying scenes that on paper probably shouldn’t work nearly as well as they do. Their banter feels loose, confident, and lived-in, and it papers over a lot of the film’s rougher edges. And yes — Téa Leoni is absolutely to die for. Charisma, presence, and just enough grounding to stop the whole thing floating off into pure excess. Is it refined? No. Is it clever? Not especially. But it’s fun, rewatchable, and knows exactly what kind of movie it wants to be. Sometimes that’s more than enough. 🍺 A cold lager straight from the fridge — loud, refreshing, and best enjoyed without overthinking it.
