As a guy who is 61 years old and living/dealing with Stage 4 Sarcoma cancer in my lungs, lymph nodes, and pelvic area, this movie is really helpful and enlightening for me. Enlightening, because I see a kindred spirit in André, who dealt with his cancer much in the same way I'm dealing with mine. Living every day with a sense of humor and as much of a positive attitude as possible. Like André, I'm much more concerned with the people (and a dog) that I'm leaving behind than I am for myself. I'm OK with my upcoming death, and have made peace with it all. I really appreciate André and his family making this film. One, because I can share it with my friends and family so they can see someone else who is dealing with it all in a very similar way that I am. Two, because it's comforting for ME to watch somebody else going through things that are so similar...it helps me feel LESS ALONE in this (so many have come before me, and so many will come after me, who will deal with all of this). I've already watched it twice, and will revisit it again, I'm sure. Thank you for making this movie, André and family!

Irreverent and moving at the same time. When Andre gets diagnosed with colon cancer, he decides to chronicle his journey of figuring out how to die on his own terms, and with his sense of humor still in tact. It’s sobering to watch Andre gradually wither away to his disease. I’ve been personally affected by colon cancer this year. My friend Anthony passed away earlier this year and my sister-in-law was recently diagnosed and is undergoing treatment. Both of them are/were under 50 years old. Prompted me to get my first screening and my doc said they’re starting to recommend screening at 45 now, rather than 50.
(So, PSA: Please get checked out 🙇🏻 if you’re approaching or over 45.)
Then when you’re done, check out this film, too. Or watch the film first. Either order works.

Cancer is one of my greatest fears (malignant medical marvels of all types, really) after watching so many of my family members die in hospitals. I hope I approach it like Andre, if and when it happens.
