Aeon Flux je členkou bandy, která se bouří proti režimu, nastoleném po smrtící infekci, která vyhladila 99 % lidstva. Zbytek přeživších obývá jedno jediné město. Aeon, jako nejschopnejší, má za úkol zavraždit představitele společnosti Trevora. Když se s ním ale setká, není schopna ho zabít. Objevují se jí vzpomínky, jimž nerozumí. Trevoj jí prozrazuje, že již 400 let je celá společnost klonována, protože vedlejším účinkem léku proti infekci byla sterilita. Trevor sice vynalez lék, ale jeho bratr nechce volnou společnost – chce jí dál vládnout a proto ho zničil. Naštěstí nestojí všechno jen na medicíně a tak po 400 letech příroda sama uzdravila nemocné a lidstvo je schopno znovu normální reprodukce a dalšího vývoje.

- Callum19. prosince 2025⭐⭐⭐ – Æon Flux — Style First, Substance Second Æon Flux is one of those films I suspect I might be remembering with slightly rose-tinted glasses — and yet, every time I revisit it, I still enjoy the ride. It’s far from perfect, but it has enough going on visually and thematically to keep it engaging. This was an early example of on-screen female empowerment before the term became a marketing checkbox, and Charlize Theron absolutely commits to the role. She proves she can carry an action film physically and emotionally, selling the agility, toughness, and quiet intensity the character needs. Even when the story falters, she never does. At its core, this is a fairly standard rebellion narrative: a sleek future society that looks like a utopia on the surface but is rotten underneath. There’s cloning, control, secrets about identity, and the familiar question of whether stability is worth the cost of freedom. None of these ideas are especially new, and the film doesn’t explore them as deeply as it could, but they’re interesting enough to give the action some weight. Where Æon Flux really shines is style. The visual design, costuming, and choreography give it a distinct identity that sets it apart from other mid-2000s sci-fi action films. That same emphasis on aesthetics can also be its weakness — the plot sometimes feels secondary, and emotional beats don’t always land as hard as they should. Overall, it’s a flawed but enjoyable watch. Not a sci-fi classic, not a genre embarrassment either — just a stylish, competent action film that does enough right to be worth revisiting now and then. 🥃 Pairing: A chilled vodka martini — sleek, sharp, visually appealing, and satisfying in the moment, even if it doesn’t linger long after it’s finished.

Charlize Theron slinks through this dystopian sci-fi as a rebel assassin in a future ruled by scientists and secrets. The setup is solid: sleek visuals, bio tech weirdness and a plot that hints at deeper philosophical questions. There’s action, intrigue and a touch of body horror, all wrapped in a glossy, early 2000's shell. But for all its style, it never quite lands emotionally. The worldbuilding feels rushed, the characters undercooked and the pacing oddly mechanical. It’s like watching a beautifully choreographed dance where the music’s just slightly off. Theron gives it her all and the costumes and sets are genuinely striking, but the film never fully taps into the surreal edge of the original MTV series. It plays it safe when it could’ve gone full fever dream. Still, I watched it, I liked parts of it and it earns a spot in the “almost cult classic” pile. Just wish it had leaned harder into its weirdness.
