Tron: Ares
A great addition to a great series, I for one was glad to see them break the digital/real world divide and bring the digital characters to us. I love how the future of the world comes down to a war between companies trying to 3D print the future, including AI based soldiers. However, this also was a bit of a scary idea when you pair it with our current technical standing and lack of control on them. The acting was brilliant and everything one comes to expect from the franchise. The idea of Kevin once again making an appearance in his 80s version of Tron was just fantastic and a big nostalgic throwback. I just cannot wait to see what is coming next in this series!

Tron: Legacy
A chip off the ol' bit, and every bit as fun as the original; see what I did there. This movie is Full of great action sequences, and gives the old world of Tron a fresh reboot in both graphics and population. It was great to see them using CGI to bring a younger version of Kevin Flynn back in to mix and giving the backstory a bit more play. Though the look just feels a bit plastic. There are a lot of profound ideas that are just tossed into the arena and just seem to disappear, such as the digital life seemingly springing from nowhere. However, knowing Disney, these are likely just foreshadowing for future sequels that are sure to come.

Fingernails
I will admit, I watched this twice as I felt like I had missed something the first time around, only to find out that I had not. The movie focuses on Anna and two big parts of her life, her relationship with her boyfriend Ryan and her newfound job at the Love Institute, which seem to converge on her love life. What starts as a slow-building look into her life and desires turns into an introspective look at what Anna feels is and is not a good relationship. The movie culminates in a should she stay or should she go decision that does not give much closure. The acting is fun and the concept is definitely original, which is what most of my rating is based on; however, short of this, it is just OK.

Tron
As someone that saw the movie early in life and has watched it numerous times over the years, this is one movie that just seems to shed its skin of fantasy little by little as parts of it that were purely fiction have slowly become reality, or at least very close. The story is simple, and the graphics which were once cutting edge are now dated, but both still stand the test of time in originality and beauty. If you're looking for a great Sci-Fi movie that will give you nostalgic vibes of old consoles, then take a seat and enjoy! The only bad thing that I have to say about this movie is it can be a little slow at times, but other than that, just brilliant.

Lilo & Stitch
This is a great movie that is both fun and gives a pull on your heart strings. For those out there looking for a Live action remake of the original, do understand that the story is not exactly the same, but I actually like that about the movie. The usual characters are still there, minus Gantu, and sure the voice of Jumba Jookiba is not the same, but overall, it is a great adaptation of the original animation. Maia Kealoha does a great job as Lilo and nails her energy level and emotional turmoil. Meanwhile, Sydney Elizebeth Agudong is spot on for Nani, big sister vibes and all. Overall, it is a great remake and will please audiences that are a fan of the original.

Snow White
Putting aside all of the non-cinema related talk that seems to want this movie to just be horrible, it really was not all that bad. I did find it odd that the dwarfs were CGI instead of actual actors, but hey that's how creative liberty goes. As for the acting, I thought Gal Gadot was a convincing Evil Queen and played her part well, and I will say the same for Rachel Zegler as Snow White. I actually liked a few of the "reimaginings" that were put in the movie, especially that of Snow White being a bit more of an active player in her life. As for the music, it was a typical Disney movie, though I was sad it was missing "Someday My Prince Will Come", which I think could have still made the cut but really, I'm just nitpicking at this point.

Fountain of Youth
Not a bad movie at all, despite the mediocre ratings. The acting is OK, not amazing, but not terrible either. The chase and action scenes are great additions that are well placed to break up the cerebral puzzle-solving side of this little gem. It feels like someone watched The Da Vinci Code, The Librarian, and a modern Mission: Impossible movie, mixed and matched their favorite parts, and thought, yeah, that works!

1923
As a second prequel to the Yellowstone series, 1923 does not fail to deliver on what promises to be yet another epic tale. Set in the 1920s, we see another Dutton generation fighting tooth and nail to keep control of their land and livelihood against all odds. The scenery gives such an engrossing and vivid view of the time period, and the cast does such a great job in bringing the viewer into the characters' lives. Whether you are a fan of the Duttons or not this show is sure to please!

This prequel to the Yellowstone Show is set in the post-Civil War era and follows the Duttons as they make their way west via wagon train. Ultimately the story is a setup to show where the Duttons come from and how they become the landowners and ranchers you see in Yellowstone. The scenery is just amazing and does a fantastic job of immersing you in what must have been like to be on this epic trail west. And the acting? Just a treat to watch, from the regular focal Dutton family characters and the leaders of the wagon train to the extra families that are also hoping to find a new life in the West.

Weeds
Weeds starts off strong, with a unique premise and a cast that really brings the story to life. The family dynamic is great—they're constantly adapting, going from one crazy idea to the next, and somehow always managing to deal with life’s curveballs. It’s so much fun watching Nancy and her crew navigate one mess after another. But I’ve got to admit, after the first few seasons, it does start to feel a bit repetitive. Nancy makes another bad decision, spends the season cleaning it up... rinse and repeat. That said, the show blends a lot of genres—action, comedy, even some romance and steamy moments. It's definitely entertaining, even if it feels like a bit too much show sometimes.

Stargate Origins: Catherine
Ever wondered what happened before the original movie or series, then this might help just a little. While the SG-1 series did a great job giving background details as to where the Stargates and the Goa'uld come from, this fills that small sliver as to what happened just before the Stargate was packed away, after it was found. With a cast that does a great job of carrying on the traditions and lore of the Stargate universe, the story told does feel forced at times but ultimately does a good job. The effects are the same as you would see in any other Stargate show/movie, so don't expect much novelty there.

The Lego Movie 2: The Second Part
A great addition to what was a brilliant first movie. LEGO does it again and in a way that is not just entertaining but also provides a good lesson for the younger and older generations. As in the original, the use of so many different characters is just amazing, as is the way they render the LEGO world with such great detail one block at a time. The underlying message of "things being better together" is one every parent wishes their children would learn and honestly is a topic in which we all could improve. When it comes to the story and action sequences, it is more of the same but in a good way.

The Lego Movie
Such a great movie and so much fun to watch with the kids! It was so much fun to see all the different characters that LEGO made into pieces over the years come to life in a way that most of us dreamed of as children. The animation in the movie is just amazing and the level of detail afforded to the environment is just unbelievable. Another significant aspect of the movie is how they merged both the LEGO world and the real world in a way that was not just fun but heartwarming. This will earn a place in a kid's frequently played list!

Constantine
Constantine is such a great antihero, and this live-action version is a great example of what a live-action version of an animated character can be. Keanu Reeves is such a good fit for this character when it comes to looks and his ability to fit the attitude and feel of the character is uncanny. The supporting cast is no slouch either and helps to add a touch of drama and comedy in just the right areas. The storyline is great and sticks to an arc that you would find in the Constantine universe while giving you a great introduction to the character himself. The Special effects are nicely done, though nothing major other than the hellscapes. Overall, this is a great addition to the character, and I hope to see more!

The Stolen Years
This is an interesting movie, much like 50 First Dates, however, it does not have such a pleasant ending nor as much in the area of comedy. The movie itself has a good story where Joseph Chang's character goes out of his way to try and bring happiness to Bai Baihe, whose life and dreams have been shattered by an accident. Over the course of the movie things seem to get better until it finally culminates in a very surprise ending. If you are looking for a good date night or at home with the wife movie, keep scrolling as this is not it.
