Wednesday Ratings & Reviews
- Hakihiko7d agoDarkly Witty, Stylish, and Surprisingly Heartfelt "Wednesday" takes the world of the Addams Family and gives it a sharp, modern twist — one that balances gothic flair, teenage rebellion, and a delightfully twisted sense of humor. Under Tim Burton’s distinctive direction, the series thrives on atmosphere: moody yet playful, grim yet full of personality. It’s a show that manages to be both a mystery and a coming-of-age story, wrapped in black lace and sarcasm. Jenna Ortega is the undeniable heart of the series. Her performance as Wednesday Addams is pitch-perfect — deadpan, clever, and quietly magnetic. She brings nuance to a character that could have easily become a caricature, layering her trademark stoicism with subtle emotion and sharp wit. The supporting cast complements her beautifully, particularly Emma Myers as the ever-sunny Enid, whose chemistry with Ortega gives the show both warmth and levity. Visually, "Wednesday" is stunning. The production design is rich in detail, and the gothic aesthetic feels authentic without ever tipping into parody. The soundtrack — part eerie orchestration, part rebellious modern flair — enhances the tone perfectly. Burton’s fingerprints are all over it, but the series never feels weighed down by his style; instead, it feels energized by it. The mystery at the story’s core is engaging, though not without its clichés. Some plot points are predictable, and a few secondary characters could use more depth. Still, the pacing keeps the show lively, and the balance between humor, horror, and heartfelt moments is impressively maintained. In conclusion, "Wednesday" is a stylish and thoroughly enjoyable reinvention of a classic character. It blends Burton’s signature gothic charm with sharp writing, memorable performances, and just enough emotional resonance to make it more than a genre exercise. Darkly funny, smartly written, and visually rich — it’s a series that feels both familiar and refreshingly new.
- grimsfieldOctober 10, 2025You just get the feeling that with better writers / executive producers behind this show, it might actually be good. There are good actors present, but the script and direction are just so cringingly bad. I blame the "Timecop" writers, Afred Gough and Miles Millar. The two are legendary hacks and I have no idea how they got their hands on this IP. They just produce stinker after stinker and manage to consistently fail upwards.
- ƇJanuary 29, 2025👧🏻🕸 I suppose it's inevitable that if you really enjoyed Harry Potter then anything set in a boarding school is going to have you drawing parallels. I found that watching 'Wicked' but with 'Wednesday' there are more than just a few. But what the heck I appreciate them both so double the fun and Wednesday does have more than enough of her own personality and charisma to rise above any comparison. Looking coldly at the series as a whole, it's typical big budget television series fare. Nothing extraordinary in it's production and more than enough cliches. But when you add in the Adams Family and the personality of Wednesday, then it becomes something special. So if you enjoyed the saga of Harry Potter, and you enjoy well made television series, and most of all you are a fan of The Adams Family and the teenage antics of Wednesday Adams then this is for you. I can't wait for season two

- Yashika RajputJuly 26, 2025I honestly don’t even remember exactly when I started watching Wednesday — it feels like forever ago. I was an early teen back then, and the only reason I even thought of watching it was because it was everywhere on the internet. Every single one of my friends had already seen it, and I guess that made me realize how far behind I was when it came to shows and series. So, that’s where my whole journey with series actually began. At that time, I wasn’t someone who could stick to watching one thing — I had never really completed a full series before. I started with one episode, told myself I’d watch more later, and then left it, picked it up again, and repeated that cycle for a while. I honestly feel a bit ashamed that I couldn’t even finish such a short series in a week. But once I got into it, I was hooked. It was a completely different experience for me — the kind of show that opens the door to another world, where people had magical abilities and lived lives so different from ours. It was fascinating. And when it comes to characters, I’m genuinely glad I watched it because Enid truly stood out. She wasn’t just a side character — she was the comfort one. I absolutely loved her energy. She was warm, funny, and full of life. I loved her friendship with Wednesday even more than any romantic subplot like Xavier or Tyler. That bond between the two girls was the highlight of the series for me. It was so real, so raw. All in all, Wednesday was something new, something magical, and definitely worth watching.
