November 1967. Hanna Bielska - an aspiring actress - is in a hurry to see "Forefathers' Eve" when a stranger joins her on the way. This is Janek Wolicki. He wants to impress the girl at all costs and gains in her eyes when he brings a typescript of "Dziady" signed by Kazimierz Dejmek himself. Familiarity turns to infatuation. Meanwhile, the young journalist Dunin finds out that his roommate is fired due to his origin. At the same time, Janek appears in the editorial office. Dunin is to take care of him. However, the boy does not hone his journalism skills in his head. Janek and Hanna's romance is getting hotter. An important artifact of their affection becomes a camera, which is a gift for Wolicki from his father. Young love takes on a Shakespearean dimension.
