In this battle, Liu Bei loses his heavily supplied army, his two daughters are captured by Cao Chun, Liu Bei gains time to escape due to Zhang Fei breaking the bridge by water, while Lady Gan and Liu Chan are spared under the protection of Zhao Yun. After the battle, Liu Bei gave up his plan to transfer to Jiangling and went to Jiangxia to join Liu Qi, the eldest son of Liu Biao.
