A little German town located on the Bavarian and Thuringian border gets caught in the current of world history at the end of the Second World War. Family, friends and lovers are separated from each other, first by a wooden fence, later by a border with shoot-to-kill order. "Tannbach" is a German-German story under the burning glass, exemplified by the fate of a small village community.

My Land, Your Land1948. After the Americans advance too far, the Russians take back control and with them comes a new regime. The divided town is thrown into disarray when they begin work on the policy of dispossession - reassigning the land owned by the few to the many. Is the approach too hard-lined, or will it win over the people of Tannbach? Residents try to organize their lives under the new conditions.
