The Gaping MawStudents must escape the jaws of one of the biggest holes, on any river they will run; the Cal-Salmon is at a record high; the river has been changed by bulging flows and fear paralyzes the students; the group rebels against head boatman, Guy.

Hell to PayThe second day on the Cal-Salmon. The students, under the leadership of Marie, are guiding themselves through the Gaping Maw and beyond, to the even larger Iakes. Swimming in these icy waters will be inevitable and pain is a certainty.
