Melanie Jayne Chisholm, known as Melanie C or Mel C, is an English singer, songwriter, and television personality. She first became famous in the 1990s as "Sporty Spice" in the pop group Spice Girls. Since the Spice Girls went on hiatus in 2000, Melanie C has had a successful solo career, releasing four albums and topping the US Billboard Dance Chart. Her 1999 solo album Northern Star was her biggest UK hit.
