Rico's military career progresses from recruit to non-commissioned officer and finally to officer against the backdrop of an interstellar war between mankind and an arachnoid species known as "the Bugs."

- DAVID 25October 4, 2025While this movie is science fiction, it shows an interesting idea, what if the world was sparta Everyone is a civilian with equal rights, but citizens aka veterans are given the privilege of a vote as a reword for that service And since in the military you don't choose your buncmate, your unite, your Co, you learn to get along with people you might not have met in civilian life where you can choose to interact with the ppl around you Here we see people from all walks of life band together for a couse Something that is much harder to find in civilian life, a true melting pot That being said it's also a movie about killing giant bugs🤣

Watching it again after all this time, I think the movie is still great and the VFX and overall movie still holds up great. But being a Sci-Fi movie the obvious flaws are more prominent now. I'm going to watch the sequels as well and see if it gets better. Watching it in 2024, I think it was surely ahead of it's time and still very enjoyable.
