Seance Ratings & Reviews
- jackmeatAugust 23, 2025My quick rating - 4.6/10. So far, this very much feels like a stage play, not saying it as a bad thing. I'll ask one question without giving anything away: where was the neighbor from??? LOL. A YouTuber (Miranda Skerman) who does her shows on debunking the supernatural decides to attend a seance at a supposed haunted house for her next fake show to prove to be nothing more than a lie. There have been plenty of these setups as of late in varying degrees of quality. This one really depends on the banter between our skeptic and Michael Minto, who is the owner of the house and does the channeling of the spirits trapped within. Budget is really a non-factor since, as I stated, it could easily play out on a stage since the other characters are only a part of this when needed and are quickly dismissed shortly after their appearance. The sarcasm between believer and non is quite amusing, at first. I say that since they do drag the whole quips at each other's beliefs way too far into the movie, and it becomes tiresome. But the majority of this flick does a nice job of being sufficiently creepy and subtle in its presentation of what is actually happening. It really isn't a bad indie horror flick that uses its psychology to keep you entertained, but in the end, it lets you down with a simplistic wrap-up that I wasn't a fan of. I can't go further into what that is without giving any spoilers, so it'll be up to you to check into it. I don't think you'll be disappointed if you do, you just may be left wanting a bit more to it.
- UniqueMovies Deb HJuly 29, 2025What started off as your typical ghostly spirits of dead people, haunted sorority, turns out to be a murder mystery. several of them. The new girl shows up and all kinds of things start happening. She meets the house mother's son. As the movie progresses, the mystery gets deeper. deaths and disappearances continue to happen. Then a all out and out Girls fight, along with a house mother son included, slashing and stabbing one another until most of them die. Lots of twists and turns in this movie. Two girls survive out of all of The blood slashing murders, but one of them has to run away because she's a big time Murderer. This movie threw me a loop because I didn't expected to turn out this way. I don't want to blow the plot so I won't say much more here, Except if you like bloody slashy scenes then you're going to definitely see that in this movie!! Overall the acting was good. I'm not a fan of slasher movies, But I continued to watch it to the end, so I can give a review. So for all you slasher fans out there, here's to you! 🥂 this movie is for you! A must see and worth the watch at least one time. ✨🪄✨
