This is a fun, energetic animated movie that takes the classic monster characters and gives them a fresh and comedic twist. It is packed with humor, great animation, and a surprising amount of heart, making it an enjoyable watch for both kids and adults. Adam Sandler as Count Dracula is one of the best parts of the movie. His voice performance brings a mix of comedy and warmth that makes Dracula feel unique. He is not the scary villain you would expect. Instead, he is an overprotective father who just wants to keep his daughter safe. His relationship with Mavis is the emotional core of the movie, and it adds a lot of heart to the story. Selena Gomez does a great job as Mavis, giving her a fun and rebellious personality that makes her easy to root for. Andy Samberg as Johnny brings a lot of energy and excitement to the movie. His character is a little over the top at times, but he plays well off of Dracula’s serious nature. The supporting cast, including Kevin James, Steve Buscemi, David Spade, and CeeLo Green, all add to the fun. Each monster has their own personality, and their interactions bring some of the funniest moments in the film. The animation is fantastic. The exaggerated expressions, fast movements, and detailed backgrounds make every scene feel full of life. The character designs are creative, and the way the monsters move adds to their personalities. The hotel itself is visually stunning, filled with cool details that make it feel like a real place in the monster world. The humor is a mix of slapstick, wordplay, and clever monster themed jokes. Some jokes are simple and aimed at kids, while others have enough wit to make adults laugh too. There are plenty of moments that poke fun at classic monster movies, and they are done in a way that respects the original characters while still making them funny. One of the best things about Hotel Transylvania is its pacing. The movie moves quickly, never slowing down for too long. It keeps the energy up from start to finish, making sure there is always something happening. The balance between comedy and emotional moments is handled well, keeping the story engaging without making it too serious. The music and sound design also add a lot to the movie. The upbeat soundtrack matches the playful tone, and even the silly musical moments feel like they belong. The score helps set the mood for both the fun and heartfelt scenes, making the movie feel even more immersive. While the movie is a lot of fun, it does have a few small flaws. The story is predictable, following a formula that is easy to see coming. It does not take any big risks, and some of the humor feels repetitive. Johnny’s character can be a little too much at times, and some of the side characters do not get as much development as they could. Despite those minor issues, Hotel Transylvania is still a great animated movie. It is entertaining, visually impressive, and full of fun moments that make it worth watching. It may not be the most groundbreaking animated film, but it knows exactly what it wants to be and delivers a fun experience. If you are looking for a lighthearted and creative comedy with great animation and likable characters, this is definitely a movie worth checking out. I had a great time with it, and it is a movie I would gladly watch again.

- Jamie TalbotApril 26, 2025This is a film that’s still good today. It’s yet another film with Adam Sandler and his buddies. However, the monsters they play fit their voices so well. Even though the animation isn’t on par with Pixar, the storytelling in this film is top-class. Definitely something I’d happily watch again.
