Headhunters Ratings & Reviews
- Mike GAugust 29, 2025What great movie! Violence, sex, action — what more could you want?! Seriously though, Headhunters is a true gem that should be much more widely known, but isn’t because it’s not in English. The writing and direction are excellent, and the film manages to keep you on the edge of your seat, but still offer plenty of story twists and character development. Speaking of characters, the acting is top-notch. Nikolaj Coster-Waldau’s performance is great, as he always is IMO, but the real standout is Aksel Hennie as Roger. Terror, smugness, joy, panic, Aksel essentially runs the gamut of every possible emotion through the course of the film, and he nails each one perfectly. Then there’s the physical aspect of the performance he gives. Every injury feels real, and the pain genuine. Saying it’s a convincing performance is an understatement. To end this review before I babble any longer, it’s a hell of a flick. Yes, it’s subtitles required since it’s not in English, which deters some people, but it’s very much worth the tiny effort required to read as you watch.
- Matthias_812July 5, 2025A slick darkly funny thriller that thrives on its constant escalation. The pacing is relentless, with the second half becoming physical and psychological torment. Headhunters is absurd at times but it embraces the extremity with such commitment that it works. The film offers a sharp critique on ambition, ego, and the masks people wear to survive in high society.
