- Kevin WardJuly 3, 2025Been getting kind of hyped for the new Evil Dead Rise and figured I better catch up on this one which has been on my watchlist for a while. Man this movie rips! It has some really excellent cinematic imagery, gruesome kills and fantastic looking effects. Only things keeping it from an even higher score is that it sometimes falls into the horror trap of characters making really dumb choices. Most of that can be forgiven, though, given how much fun this was. Bring on Rise…
- Matthias_812April 4, 2025Not only is Evil Dead a PERFECT remake but I'll stand to say it's one of the best horror films of the 21st century. Perfectly encompassing what the horror genre is and should be. Those that claim to loathe this rendition just have a stick up their ass. All of the signature Evil Dead elements are here and respected but presented with absolute seriousness. A rare feat to be pulled off. Nothing funny here, no cheeky one liners, it's straight brutality never letting up and never succumbing to a dull moment.
