- Richard DavisNovember 12, 2025I expected a good deal more from this cast. It's not a great watch, a confused storyline, with fairly cinematography, which just doesn't gel together at all. I only gave it go because of Oldman and Bacon, but wish I hadn't bothered.
- Charles LondonApril 1, 2025What we have here is a gripping legal-drama/thriller with two very watchable lead actors at the top of their respective games. The movie isn't without its flaws, but it still works for me. There are perhaps a few too many attempts at Hitchcock-esque moments that come up a little shy of The Master's level of suspense and surprise, and Tess Harper seems a little miscast as a tough policewoman, but all-in-all, it's good drama in the capable hands of Oldman and Bacon. The best scenes are when criminal defense lawyer, Ben Case (Oldman), who finds himself embroiled in a legal conundrum, seeks the advice of his law-professor mentor. Honestly, I would love to have seen more of this and less of the jump-scare gimmicks, but I will settle for what is a mostly enjoyable film.
