- ᥴꪖ᥅ꪶFebruary 23, 2025Aside from Spielberg`s auspicious groundbreaking genius, I notice strong undertones of plot. The first of these is the scene where the air traffic controllers tactfully refrain from verbally ratifying and documenting UFOs on their radar screens , conveying the sense, to me, that these things might actually happen in real life. Secondly, the plight of the main character who ulitimately agrees to be abducted by the aliens after abductees are returned. On his way to this happening, he is separated from his family whom he abandons because of a mental illness created by his psychic connection with the extraterrestials and he even connects with another woman on a personal level, who is also affected by this phenomenon. Finally I would say that Spielberg points out that these things happen all over the world and, that powerful people with specialist authority and knowledge are already engaged with this anomaly. All in all, this film is a challenging white knuckle ride but, in an exhilarating and secure kind of way.
