Better Man
Directed by Michael GraceyThis is an amazing story about one of the most famous pop artists of the nineties and 2000s. Robbie Williams is not just a talented singer, he is a charismatic and scandalous star who, in his youth, set himself the goal of breaking through and becoming famous throughout the world. The film tells how Robbie felt wild as a child, and to prove to everyone that he was capable of achieving a lot, he immersed himself in music.
Better Man Ratings & Reviews
- DreMarch 24, 2025Nice story telling. And use of a chimp as the main character without looking like a racist thing 😂
- stuhannafordMay 21, 2025Chronologically all over the shop. Jumpy, skipping over the parts of a life you’re expecting to re-witness. Hiding away from the Robbie we know from stage and screen… but that’s the point. Instead, we get a blunt look at Robert, the singing, dancing monkey. It’s by no means perfect, but it’s not meant to be. It’s about a cheeky monkey who struggled to find meaning once fame took hold, and failed to fulfil his hopes. The moments important to fans are skimmed and glossed over, straight to the times of unseen heartache that enveloped someone trying to navigate the world under constant scrutiny, often his own. A messy look through a lens, at times grimy, but most certainly honest. Entertained.

- ChrispixFebruary 28, 2025Good movie and soundtrack, worth a watch. I didn't know anything about Robbie, and I enjoyed it.
- David LópezApril 7, 2025Totally recommend this one. I've ever been a huge fan of Robbie, after watching this movie I'm starting to catch with the vibe of his songs. Best biopic of a monkey I've ever watched 🤪
- Phil WilliamsAugust 12, 2025Very enjoyable
- SpoonsFebruary 10, 2025Better Man is a stunning, emotional ride. Seeing Robbie’s battles behind iconic performances I witnessed live hit hard. Tech fades into raw storytelling—it’s not just a biopic, it’s an artistic, heartbreaking must-watch. I’m still crying. 🎤💔
- neuroparadoxJuly 24, 2025Pretty interesting biopic even though I still have no Idea who Robbie Williams is, and im pretty sure he's a blood relative of mine irl. 🤣😂🙈 "In the time of chimpanzees, I was a monkey." ---Beck (a singer I've heard of before)
- MasterDB2205April 18, 2025Grandioser Film
- Ray HopkinJuly 14, 2025A highly entertaining ride through the life of Robbie Williams, as a chimp? It really worked, I really liked that it didn't try to make him likeable. Some great set pieces, and a great cast behind him (Pemberton and Steadman in particular) makes for a highly entertaining movie.
- nomoJuly 8, 2025Surprisingly entertaining. It deals with drug abuse, depression and suicidal thoughts in a non orthodox manner, questioning the ugly reality of fame.
- Jay Marie BaileyFebruary 12, 2025Love this, thought it was a very clever biopic giving unique insight in to the life of Robbie and how the monkey fits in with his personality. If you like Robbie Williams this is a must watch
- Ross GuerinJuly 8, 2025A really enjoyable musical more in the vein of Rocketman than Bohemian Rhapsody and that's a good thing. Though the story is relatively predictable and has classic tropes, I assume it actually happened as the film is based on the rise and ups and downs of Robbie Williams. The creative musical sequences are what drives this and makes it so much fun.
- ScottJanuary 12, 2025It runs into the familiar problem with biopics where a person's life doesn't sit cleanly in a single arc for a short-form medium like film. So while it meanders a bit in the back half of the movie it also treats you to some of the visually wild musical numbers you'll see all year. As I understand it, this isn't a 100% accurate retelling of Williams' story. But with the (better) man himself as narrator it becomes an earnest conversation with himself and his past. And while my major complaint with biopics as a genre is that they're often more obsessed with the mythology of their subject, in this case his self-esteem and mental health issues are placed upfront in such a way that I think there was a treatment of this movie that could have been straight horror. Robbie Williams was more than willing to make himself raw and vulnerable and the result shines just as bright as the spotlight he threw himself into all those years ago.
