“7 Women,” John Ford’s final film, is an unexpected departure from his usual style. It tackles themes of repressed sexuality, faith versus reason, and resilience in crisis. With a tough, unconventional female lead, it unfolds like a stage play—intimate and claustrophobic—but the strong performances and simmering tension make it a gripping character study.
