An orphan boy arrives with his dog in the village of Gallatin where the violent and powerful Morgan makes his law. There, to survive in such a hostile environment, he adopts as an uncle the gunfighter Franky James, a compulsive drinker who seems to be the only hope to rid the town of Morgan's harassment.
