The job is his passion, he has just opened his own practice in Munich, and he has had the "ideal relationship" with his pretty, gentle colleague Chris for six years. But Chris apparently has a different opinion. When she tells him that she would like to take a break from the relationship and that she has met another man, Roland, who had been very proud of his knowledge of the human psyche, falls into the worst crisis of his life. Even the thought of suicide is no longer far away. But a strange coincidence brings him together with the beautiful, sophisticated Regine. She is also in relationship trouble; Their marriage has reached a low point, especially erotically. So the two comfort each other, go to a concert, and have passionate sex. Until Roland realizes that Regine's husband is none other than the lawyer Bernhard Meier, his best "customer". However, an affair with a patient's wife could cost the young therapist his license. Caught in a risky double game, Roland increasingly seeks consolation from Chris, who doesn't seem to be entirely happy with her 'new guy', the possessive softie Martin.
