Much later, my grandfather was locked up in a donkey corral because he wanted to learn to read and write. Today my uncle lives alone, as his children moved to the city. At school, the kids learn Spanish under a painting of Pythagoras. The filmmaker films the village of his father, Santiago de Okola.
