Dad, mom and their son Kolya lived in a new house on the edge of the city near the blue forest. It was just before the New Year holidays. And dad was so busy at work that he forgot to buy a Christmas tree. He remembered this only when he came home on the evening of December 31st. Dad took a hatchet and went into the forest to get a Christmas tree. Mom tried to dissuade him, but to no avail.
