The great sports champions have in common that they have a destiny that often exceeds them and gives their lives an allegorical significance. Marcel Cerdan is no exception. Brave guy from North Africa, he became champion of France in the evening of the 30s and will lead his career as best he can through the vicissitudes of the war. At the end of the conflict, his conquest of the world title will make him the symbol of a France emerging from the rubble, to which he will have contributed to restore all its dignity. The film is intended to be the story of this man and this champion, inscribed in the history of an era.
