Ex-cop Jackson Swallow (Powers Boothe) follows his daughter's trail to a sleepy Wyoming town, which he soon realizes is home to a violent right-wing group, the American Liberation Movement. Infiltrating the group, Swallow becomes a bodyguard to its Hitler-like leader, Derrick Wesley (Paul Le Mat), and learns that Wesley's son Tripp (C. Thomas Howell) knows where his daughter can be found. Swallow has one chance to find his daughter - turn Tripp against the group and his own father, while keeping his true identity secret. The desperate struggle of wills turns terrifyingly violent in the explosive climax.
