I Want to Live
Directed by Karzan KardoziStories of Kurdish Refugees from Syria who are living in refugee camps in Kurdistan. The film was shot on location and takes place during the Syrian civil war and the ISIS attacks on Kurdistan. The story is told through the eyes of a young boy named Shndar, who has Thalassemia disease. He searches for immediate treatment while living as a refugee, leaving his home due to ethnic and religious hatred. The film depicts daily life within and outside of the refugee camp. A character study that explores themes of life, death, war, peace, and tolerance.
