When Philippe Dellas, the beloved mayor of a large provincial town, accidentally kills his mistress Julie he panics and enlists the help of his dedicated driver Joël Delpierre to help cover it up. They seem to be out of the woods until the police department receives a new recruit from Lyon. Inspector Alexander Konygnski is led on a trail to uncover the sinister truth.
