Directed by Hans H. ZerlettKommerzienrat Winkler arranged the marriage of his daughter Hanna. There are purely business reasons that drive Winkler to force this marriage on Hanna. The wedding with Baron von Weiningen is supposed to take place in two hours. Winkler hopes that this rise to a higher social class will give his company, which is threatened with bankruptcy, a boost. He speculates on a merger with the Claasen works.
